Jamie Foxx is all set to immortalize former 2-time Heavyweight Champion ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson in a film. In preparation to portray the 50-6 pugilist both as a competitor in his prime as well as later on in his career, Foxx has dedicated himself to beefing up and completely transformed his physique to be as close to his real-life inspiration as possible. He revealed an “exclusive” look at his body.

Jamie Foxx reveals his Mike Tyson body

In an Instagram Live called ‘Catching up with Mark Birnbaum’, the actor opened up on his role as the 53-year-old former boxer. He said, “I saw him at the height of his career. And when things got bad, I saw him as well. What I’m excited about the movie is to show those moments of the different Mike.”

He proceeded to imitate ‘Iron’s talking style and somewhat nails it thereby sounding the part. Furthermore, in showing the audience how excited he is for the film, Foxx revealed his exercise regimen which will help him look the part too.

He said, “What I’m doing right now is changing the body. Every other day I do 60 pull-ups, 60 dips, 100 push-ups. It’s changing the body. Top half. I ain’t got no legs, I ain’t got no calf muscles. So we’re gonna have to get some prosthetics for that.”

He guarantees that he will look so like Tyson that people may run to him for autographs. “In changing the body, we will be 216 pounds. When we shoot and then it will balloon to 225-230 which will look like 250 on-screen.” Foxx shared a cell phone image of his physique for the biopic.

The actor is no slouch in getting into the skin of real-life characters and acting them out in reel life. He claimed an Academy Award in 2005 for his portrayal of real-life musician Ray Charles.

Based on Foxx’s track record as well as what they’ve seen, Tyson fans can breathe easy. This is because they know that the actor has dedicated himself solely to become the reel ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet.’ The targeted weight is very close to what ‘Iron’ boxed at in his near 2-decade long career where he won titles, bit his opponent’s ears, and threatened to eat children.
