The rivalry between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder might have been the most intense heavyweight feud of the era. After dominating the entire division in their respective journeys, the boxing stars came across a sheer challenge when they offered themselves against each other. In the first fight, both men departed with their undefeated records intact, as the bout ended in a split draw.

However, Tyson Fury snatched away Deontay Wilder’s WBC heavyweight title in the rematch via a round 7 TKO on February 22, 2020, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. After an impeccable run of 42-0-1, Wilder suffered his maiden career loss, which came in as a major setback.

Fury vs Wilder 2 did pretty well at the Box Office. However, specialists had predicted that it would do even better in financial terms. The PPV price in the USA was set at $79.99.

Meanwhile, Athletic reported that Fury vs Wilder 2 would generate somewhere between 800k-850k PPV sales, per Talk Sport. If it hit those many buys, the event would have generated $64-$68 million.

Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury 2- How much did both men earn?

The rematch benefitted the heavyweight elites with hefty paydays, which was way more than what they made in their first fight. Per ESPN, both men bagged guaranteed pay of $25 million each without the share of PPVs. Tyson Fury earned only $3 million in the first fight with Wilder bagging $4 million. Thus, the second collision actually changed the course of their tale.

After including the sponsorships, PPV shares, and other bonuses, Fury and Wilder’s earnings may have crossed at least $30 million each.
