Will Errol Spence Jr. Get Destroyed by Canelo Alvarez? Mikey Garcia Thinks so

One of the greatest boxers of this era, Mikey Garcia, has already envisioned the cracking battle between Errol Spence Jr. and Canelo Alvarez. As per many boxing enthusiasts, Spence vs Canelo is one electrifying battle that should take place soon, irrespective of the weight class.

In a chat with Fight Hype, Garcia detailed about how this fight will go and who’ll dominate the entire show.

“I think Canelo beats Spence,” said Garcia.

He continued, “I mean, he (Spence) probably wouldn’t even stop him. Canelo’s very strong, even though Spence is a big dude, but he’s still welterweight. And Canelo’s a huge dude, so I think Canelo stops him,”

For now, Canelo has moved to super-middleweight whereas ‘The Truth’ has stayed in the welterweight division. Even though Spence is two mighty weight classes apart from the Mexican Boxer, he has shown significant interest in fighting him.

Mikey Garcia hailed both the fighters and agreed upon their respective skill sets. But he feels Canelo will easily outplay the American boxer whenever they collide.

However, even if Spence is the underdog in this fight, it will be a treat for boxing fans to see them clash.

Will Canelo Alvarez take on Errol Spence Jr. in 2021?

Following his win over Britain’s Callum Smith, Saul Alvarez has cemented his plans to stay at the 168-pound division. In the first half of 2021, he will fight Avni Yildirim in a mandatory WBC title defense. Post that, if he wins, he will be in contention to take on Billy Joe Saunders for the WBO super-middleweight title.

With such a stacked schedule, a fight with Errol Spence Jr. doesn’t seem to be in the picture for 2021.

The fight could have been possible if at least ‘The Truth’ was a 168-pounder, but both of them will have to transition to different weight classes altogether to touch gloves.
