The defeat of Canelo Alvarez against Dmitry Bivol sent shock waves into the boxing world. He faced the second defeat of his career since Floyd Mayweather in 2013. It proved many top-notch names of boxing wrong, who speculated on a sure sort of victory for Canelo. Since the fight did not end on the expected note, the talks for the rematch have begun.
The WBC Middleweight Champion Jermall Charlo has enlisted himself into the club, where everyone is standing with Canelo despite his loss.

Talking to media personnel, ‘The Future of Boxing’ said, “Canelo is still a great champion. One of the best in the world. But it is what it is. We got to give him respect. He is going down in history as a legend in the sport. Nobody can count him out. I feel like if there is a fight again Canelo would probably knock him out or some I don’t know. You just can’t doubt Canelo just because of one loss. I give him respect.”
Mentioning Canelo’s win against light heavyweight champ Sergey Kovalev, Charlo highlighted the strategy of Canelo against Bivol that did not work out.
He said, “I thought [Sergey] Kovalev did better than [Dmitry] Bivol but Canelo made better adjustments.”
Furthermore, while closing his argument, ‘Hitman’ revealed the strategy that will work out for Canelo in the rematch. According to Charlo, Canelo has to adjust the jab. Use it more to get inside and stay out of the range of Bivol because the latter has more reach advantage.
