“You Also Are Gonna Get Robbed”: Fans Warn Rising Prospect to Not Repeat Mike Tyson’s $100,000,000 Mistake

Boxing legend Mike Tyson made over $400 million in his boxing career but lost it all in a matter of years. While much of his decline in wealth could be attributed to his lavish lifestyle, there was another reason why ‘Iron’ Mike lost out on his millions. Moreover, the man allegedly responsible for this was non-other than his former promoter Don King.
King has had a controversial career in boxing, with some claiming he has taken advantage of fighters and been involved in numerous scandals. However, his most infamous scandal came after Tyson filed a $100 million lawsuit against King back in 1998. ‘Iron’ Mike would eventually get $14 million in the settlement with $8 million paid upfront and the remaining $6 million paid over two years. This would permanently strain the relationship between the two with Tyson still holding animosity towards King.
Despite his infamous reputation, King has still been an active figure in boxing promotion. In addition, he signed former two-division champion Adrien Broner a month ago and recently took rising prospect Antonio Williams under his wing. Williams was also quick to announce that he has now signed with King uploading a series of pictures with the promoter on social media.

Broner also shared a picture of him and Willams on his Instagram Story to welcome him. However, the fans were quick to warn the undefeated boxer about the dangers of dealing with a promoter like King and how he might end up like Tyson.

Moreover, a user named Ric Lopez claimed that Willaims should have taken his own people before dealing with King. “Always take representation with you. Don Kings first rule is to come alone when you sign. #big mistake,” he wrote. However, a user was happy that the undefeated boxer now has King by his side. He also touted Williams as the next big thing in the sport. “Time to take off u next i been seen it coming the biggest‼️” he wrote.

Fans have warned Williams not to repeat Tyson’s mistake and to be cautious in his dealings with King. They fear that King could take advantage of Broner’s financial situation, as he allegedly did with Tyson. Whether or not Williams will be successful under King’s guidance remains to be seen, but fans will be watching closely to see if he can avoid the same pitfalls that allegedly plagued ‘Iron’ Mike’s career.
