‘Boring Fight’: Jake Paul, Claressa Shields, and Boxing World Reacts to Francis Ngannou’s Win Over Ciryl Gane

UFC 270 turned out to be an action-packed event for MMA fans around the globe. The main event of the night between heavyweight king Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane was the obvious center of attraction. Many expected Ngannou to retain with a KO win over Gane.

However, both men engaged in a 25-minute war. Even in this exchange, ‘The Predator’ enjoyed the majority of the success and ended up bagging a dominant win due to his elite wrestling game.

This fight garnered mixed reactions from fans and fighters. That said, not just the MMA enthusiasts, but a lot of boxing biggies shared their reactions to the UFC 270 main event.

The Problem Child‘ follows the UFC extensively, and he often has a noteworthy take on any big event.

His comments proved that he wasn’t quite impressed with the main event of the night. Jake Paul tweeted, “Boring fight.” 

Dan Canobbio wrote, “Ngannou was super impressive tonight, showed another dimension but he cannot box.” 

Teddy Atlas added, “Yes he is big yes he’s powerful and yes he still needed his smarts to win.”

Marcos Villegas, founder of FightHub TV wrote, “Let Ngannou box. Hell get the payday he wants. Prolly get knocked out also.” 

‘GWOAT’ Claressa Shields wrote, “This fight was a tricky one for Francis! But he definitely did his thing this fight! Showed some really different stuff!! Gane did some wicked stuff with those kicks!!!!” 

Did Francis Ngannou do enough to win at UFC 270?

Ciryl Gane is more of a technical fighter. Rather than his sole standup game, he relies heavily on a combination of punches, kicks, and takedowns.

Citing that, Ngannou came in with a stern game plan to slow the pace down and not let ‘Bon Gamin’ feel at home. He took Gane to the canvas many times and even slammed him once with all his power.

Overall, as ‘The Predator’ was totally in control of the fight, he won the contest with a UD.
