Mayer, a household name in women’s boxing, recently had some words of wisdom for the UFC.
In her recent interview with The Schmo, she said, “That’s the difference between boxing and MMA. And I think q lot of MMA fans don’t really acknowledge that but. Or they don’t understand like why aren’t these big fights happening. It’s a huge, it’s a huge reason why the UFC is so popular right now.”

“If you’re like any top fighter and you call out a fighter and you say let’s make this happen, Dana White’s going to step in and say, Okay, there’s fans behind this, there’s excitement behind this, let’s make that happen.”
Furthermore, she even admitted that making fights isn’t easy in boxing, as there are different promoters and networks involved in any negotiation.
On the other hand, UFC caters to fans’ needs and they always come up with the best possible fights. This, in return, has worked wonders for Dana White and the promotion.
