5 years ago, on November 29, 2015, Andy Murray helped Great Britain win their 10 Davis Cup title. It ended the nation’s 79-year long drought at the annual tournament.

What makes the story even more glorious is a cancer patient who recovered while watching the Brit play.

It all came down to Murray of Britain and David Goffin of Belgium to conclude the event in Ghent, Belgium. Winning in three straight sets, the 2 time Olympic Gold medallist triumphed 6-3, 7-5, and 6-3. For that one moment, the entire United Kingdom hailed their champion.

Rosemary continued, “I said to a nurse assigned to me that I was going to watch Andy Murray play in the Great Britain Davis Cup team. He told me he hadn’t a clue what I was talking about! He was a rugby player and had no interest,”

The story unfolded as Murray lobbed over Goffin in a hard-fought last point. Even the home crowd applauded the visitors. No wonder, the nurse changed his mind.
