For a Formula 1 racer, nothing is more horrific than a severe crash. Irrespective of the degree of impact, crashes are a major issue in racing. Everyone looks forward to avoiding them at any cost. Carlos Sainz found himself in one such incident in Mugello. Luckily the crash wasn’t lethal and everyone escaped unhurt.

For Sainz to accept the crash was a real deal. He has often voiced his concern regarding the issue and hopes it is not repeated anytime soon. Consecutive two races in Italy fetched him two different results.

“The third triple-header of the season gave us some high and low moments. The great result at Monza was an important boost for the entire team, but what happened at Mugello is something I hope we never see again in a race,” he said.

In order to avoid the initial chaos which caused the crash, Carlos Sainz is hopeful of a drivers’ discussion before the Russian Grand Prix. Acknowledging the fact that no one was hurt, he believes that proper communication will be the key to success. The discussion will help avoid repeating the same incident he claims.

“As I said before, the most important thing is that everyone left unharmed, but I’m sure we will discuss it all together again in Russia to understand what happened and agree on how we can avoid it in the future.”

The P2 finish in Monza behind Pierre Gasly boosted his confidence, and he’d be looking forward to performing similarly in the remaining races before he jumps ship to Ferrari for the 2021 season.
