The revelation regarding her withdrawal came from the Tournament director Peter Johnston. This is what he had to say-

“She’s pulled up a bit sore after playing (at the ASB classic)  in Auckland so as a preparation ahead of the Open she’s decided not to play.”

Thus,  Wozniacki wants to ensure that she’s in perfect shape for her last grand slam.

In fact, Wozniacki was in a dream team with one of her fiercest rivals, Serena Williams. The pair played brilliantly till the finals where they were upset by the American duo of Asia Muhammad and Taylor Townsend.

However, it was in the singles where all eyes were on Wozniacki. This was due to the fact that she is due to play in the Australian Open. Despite playing brilliantly till the semis, she was crushed by Jessica Pegula in the penultimate stage.

Caroline Wozniacki will certainly give her best to win the Australian Open. It’s her last tournament and she’s hoping to make it count.
