WWE Leaves AEW in the Dust in SummerSlam vs Wembley Stadium Show Ticket Sales; Tony Khan’s Show in Peril?

Competition regarding viewership and ticket sales for a live event is a constant for two high-profile wrestling promotions AEW and WWE. While AEW’s current show ratings saw some rise in numbers, it still couldn’t match up to WWE.
Considering Tony Khan’s desperate approach to signing new stars to the roster very frequently, WWE veterans often take a jab at the AEW boss. But that certainly didn’t create any hindrance for Khan to stick to his habit. However, despite stockpiling the strongest talents on the roster, recent statistics show Tony Khan still lacks in his strategy to move ahead of WWE.

AEW’s upcoming All In event will take place in London’s massive Wembley Stadium this summer. This is the first time England is going to witness a stadium show of a US-based promotion since WWE’s SummerSlam in 1992.
Though WWE arranged Clash at the Castle at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, it, however, wasn’t a super show. AEW’s pre-ticket sale numbers are already up to 45,000. While it shows major potential for a highly successful event, it pales in comparison to WWE’s upcoming SummerSlam ticket sales.

While the number of real buyers out of all those 45,000 is not known, the AEW hierarchy is confident that the show will be a major hit, unlike last year’s Clash at the Castle, which ended up with a mere 30,000 ticket sales out of 85,000 signees.
Despite WWE’s Wembley stadium show might not be a success, the upcoming SummerSlam’s ticket sales numbers are on the verge of leaving AEW’s All In far behind.

Tony Khan is leaving no stone unturned to offer a blockbuster show at Wembley Stadium. WWE Hall of Famer Booker T thinks Khan’s dream can only be achievable if CM Punk appears in the ring, coming out of his hiatus.
Addressing Punk as the firepower for the show, Booker T noted, ‘ I’m thinking about Wembley, and I’m thinking about MJF, I’m definitely thinking about CM Punk, I mean, there’s a guy that everybody’s thinking about tentatively, potentially coming back and making that thing happen. There’s a lot of talk on the internet right now… So, I don’t know, man. Wembley, that’s a big stadium, so they’re going to need some firepower to take into that stadium to really pull that thing off.’
However, regardless of every analysis and speculation, all WWE and AEW fans are eagerly waiting for the two major events to show up in the room at the soonest.
