If there is one unspoken rule in Formula One it will be, ‘Nobody is bigger than Scuderia Ferrari’. Apparently, poor old Charles Leclerc found that out the hard way during his post-season vacation.

The 22-year-old recently signed a long-term Ferrari contract extension till 2024. He then set about enjoying his vacation and ticked off items from his bucket list. One of them was skydiving, which he fulfilled recently and sated his thrill-seeker hunger.

However, there was one crucial thing that he forgot. The Monegasque driver failed to inform Scuderia Ferrari about wanting to go skydiving.

The short answer was that the team was furious, and the youngster got into hot water for it. Interestingly, Lewis Hamilton and MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi swapped machines in December. However Leclerc will likely never see that happen for himself in the near future.

“I would love to try it out because I like motorcycles in general,” he told Speed Week. “But I’m not sure if Ferrari feels the same. I would have to ask for permission first, and I don’t know if I would get it.”

In light of the ticking off that Ferrari gave him for the sky-diving stunt, Leclerc confessed that he would run any special requests by Ferrari next time.

However, he had made an exception for the thrill-seeking activity, but Scuderia Ferrari clearly did not see it that way. Needless to say, Charles Leclerc won’t be going behind Ferrari’s back again in a hurry.

Were Scuderia Ferrari justified in being angry at Charles Leclerc?

In all honesty, Scuderia Ferrari have a right to be angry, as they care about his safety. After he signed the new contract, he was touted as the face of Ferrari’s future. In addition to that, it would have been problematic if he injured himself away from the track
