Charles Leclerc Labelled as More Political Compared to Verstappen by Former F1 Driver

The future of Formula One largely rests in the hands of Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. However, F1 legend Gerhard Berger believes that the two are still not in the league of Lewis Hamilton.
Currently, the big debate is about who will take over the reins as the best driver in Formula One. The primary candidates for the coveted title are, the feisty Max Verstappen and the focused Charles Leclerc.
However, Berger told Auto Motor und Sport that Lewis Hamilton is still regarded as the best Formula One driver.

“It’s going to be difficult for them,” he mused. “Hamilton is not just the best driver today, he’s well on the way to becoming the best ever.”
Berger confessed that he often stopped short of comparing Hamilton to the late great Ayrton Senna. However, he can now confidently say that that is the case, and Hamilton has reached Senna’s level.
What does Berger think of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen?

On the other end of the spectrum, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc are fundamentally different drivers, and will be hard to compare.

The Austrian suggested that Verstappen has a far more aggressive and unpredictable style. He is unafraid of not being politically correct and does not sugarcoat his opinion.
Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc resides on the opposite end of the room, as he gives off an air of being calm and more considerate. In addition to that, he takes a more calculative approach and chooses to play the political game.

Though Berger could not deny that in spite of their off-track differences, their talent was the same. Both drivers were the hottest prospects on the driver market, until Ferrari and Red Bull extended their respective contracts.
In addition to that, Lewis Hamilton still has a couple of years left in him and he is still the one to beat. When the Briton retires eventually, it is safe to say that Formula One is in good hands.
