Everyone is watching the US Open but there is also a lot of drama happening outside of the tournament. The most recent one is between Pablo Carreno Busta and Nick Kyrgios. The Australian started the spat by saying that Pablo can only do well on clay and in response to this, the Spaniard said,

“He must be pretty bored… when he comes back to tournaments, we will talk about him because he deserves it and in the meantime, well nothing, he will continue to tweet from home”

Obviously, Nick Kyrgios could not let a comment like this go unanswered. On his Instagram story, he shared a picture of his head-to-head record against the Spaniard and wrote,

“Obviously would love to be playing the US Open but due to conditions didn’t feel comfortable. Yes Carreno Busta I’m a little bored and I would rather be chopping you again. 2-0.”

Well, it looks like we are going to have an intense showdown when Nick Kyrgios returns. But, the major question is – when and where is he going to do that? Unfortunately, it does not look like it will be anytime soon.

Back in August, when the Australian pulled out of the US Open, he was asked about his participation in future events. The answer to this question was not something that fans would be happy about as he said, “It is a very slim chance I’ll play in Europe. Almost slim to none to be honest.”

Clearly, the duel between Kyrgios and Carreno Busta may not happen in 2020 but that is not the Spaniard’s focus right now. He is about to play the semi-finals of the 2020 US Open against Alexander Zverev. And hopefully, he will beat him and reach the first Major final of his career.
