Rising tennis sensation Coco Gauff became the youngest WTA champion since Nicole Vaidisova in 2004 after the 15-year-old American defeated Jelena Ostapenko 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 to capture the Upper Austria Linz Open 2019 title on Sunday.

After her victory, Gauff drew many praises from all over the world but she also received many nasty messages to dishearten her and pull her down while she was competing at the Premier event in Austria.

Coco Gauff revealed in a video after winning the Linz Open 2019 that she received many nasty messages earlier, saying that her accomplishments are just temporary and she is only a one-timer.

Coco ‘Cori’ Gauff went live from her Instagram account to answer the ones, who said nasty things to her and thanked everyone who supported her and made things a lot better for her.

The American said in the video: “To everyone who said I couldn’t do it and I was a one-timer and then this was a one-time thing, jokes on you. I can’t even tell you how many messages I got. Jesus! Saying the nasties things but people like who are in live right now were positive, making things a lot better.”

Coco Gauff, who was already guaranteed to make her Top 100 debut after the first couple of wins this week in Austria, shoots inside the Top 75 in the WTA rankings on Monday. Gauff also became the first lucky loser to win a WTA singles title since Olga Danilovic triumphed at the 2018 Moscow River Cup.

“I’m still overwhelmed and shocked,” Coco Gauff said after her victory in Austria. “I guess it’s crazy to say it’s my first WTA title. This was definitely not on the calendar at the beginning of the year, because I didn’t think I’d have a chance to get in, and now I’m the champion, so it’s crazy.”
