Ross was playing his fifth year as a professional football player. He started with the Canadian Football League (CFL) before moving to the National Football League (NFL).

He played for Edmonton Eskimos in 2014, was left out for the next season due to injury and was resigned again in 2016. But he was very quickly released and signed by Saskatchewan Roughriders. His stay with them was also short lived as he was released after just an year.

His career continued to consist of such short stays.

In the following year, Ross was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Houston Texans after the 2017 NFL Draft. He was waived by the Texans and was signed to the practice squad the next day. Hardly a few months of joining, Ross was released on September.

In the same month, Ross was signed by the Detroit Lions’ practice squad, released by them, and signed by Kansas City Chiefs.
