The BCCI pays him 4 crores annually because he is on the list of endorsed commentators. Apart from this, he gets extra 2.75 crores for other roles. So he gets 6 crores annually. Former players usually make the best cricket commentators as they are familiar with the nuances of the gentleman’s game.

Sunil Gavaskar is on the same list as Ravi Shastri. So he also gets 6 crores annually. Sunil Gavaskar is the head of IPL operations. BCCI confirmed that he will be paid 2.35 crores instead of 2 crores. Gavaskar is another one in the former player turned cricket commentator list. However, there are many who are unhappy with his style and Ravi Shastri’s style of commentary.

Former Indian bowler Anil Kumble earns 2 to 2.5 lakhs per day during the IPL season. So for 60 days, he will get 60 lakhs to 90 lakhs. The former player, captain and coach is an able commentator as he is a more recent player compared to Gavaskar and Shastri. So he will probably have a good grasp over the newer forms and rules of cricket, better.
