The Indian cricket team is blessed to have three prominent captains in the team- Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma. There is a constant debate among the fans of the three superstars on who is the better captain among the three. Recently, former chairman of selectors MSK Prasad described the difference between the captaincy styles of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma.

MSK Prasad was the chief of the selection committee from September 2016 to March 2020. Though the cricket team performed exceptionally well under his stint, he was often criticized for his controversial decisions. Dominantly it was Virat Kohli who captained the Indian team during MSK’s tenure. Virat became the captain of the Indian team after MS Dhoni decided to retire from the captaincy.

Virat has proved himself as a successful captain many times in the past. It was under his captaincy that India became the No. 1 test team in the world. Rohit Sharma also proved his leadership skills by efficiently leading the team in the shortest format of the game in Virat’s absence. The Indian team lifted the 2018 Nidahas Trophy and Asia Cup under his captaincy.

“They are three guys who have three different styles. Mahi is absolutely cool, you never know what is there in his mind until it is executed. He’s very very cool, and very very accommodative whereas Virat is pretty clear. He’s at you all the time, he’s very clear in his mind what he wants.”

MSK further added, “If you are talking about Rohit, he’s more of an accommodative sort of a guy. He definitely has that empathy towards other players and he thinks from their hats,”
