David Warner Reveals the Real Reason Behind Joining Tik Tok

Australia’s opening batsman David Warner is quite popular in India owing to his Tik Tok videos. Warner enjoys a massive following on his social media and receives a lot of love for his hilarious videos. Owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all the sporting activities including cricket have been shut down for more than three months. David Warner utilized this free time in learning about the short video making app called Tik Tok. 

Speaking on the 2nd episode of the 2nd season of India Today Inspiration, Warner revealed that his motive for making videos is to make people smile in these difficult times. Warner said, “We have to think out of the box. For me, it was about putting smiles on the people’s faces. Through TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram, my family and I have been able to do that,” Warner said.

Warner’s videos often feature his wife Candice and daughters Indi and Ivy. Through his Tik Tok videos, one can say that the Warner family is highly influenced by the Indian culture and cinema. David Warner has made many videos dancing on Bollywood and South Indian songs like ‘Butta Bomma’, ‘Sheila ki Jawani’, ‘Bala‘, and many more. In fact, the video of Warner and his wife Candice dancing on the popular South Indian song ‘Butta Bomma’ received a lot of love from his Indian fans. 

Talking about the same, Warner revealed, “To be honest, what is it? Bollywood, Kollywood, Tollywood you name it.. There is a lot of things out there. We sort of putting something out there to the fans and ask ‘what is there that we could sort of replicate and try and dance to?’. We got a lot of requests. The first song was ‘Butta Bomma’. We got tipped off to do one of those and we were able to do that. And from there, it just went bananas. And everyone put requests in and we tried to do as many as we can and it’s fun. We really enjoy it,”

Though the cricketer enjoys dancing to the Indian songs, he admitted that the Indian dance moves are tough to replicate and takes a lot of time and energy. Warner said, “I will tell you one thing. I am glad I am a cricket player because those moves are incredibly fast and difficult and time-consuming. They are amazing at what they do,”
