Ellyse Perry Makes a Tough Call Between Bowling to Virat Kohli or Facing Jasprit Bumrah

Australian women cricketer Ellyse Perry recently made a tough choice. Ellyse chose between bowling to Indian skipper Virat Kohli or facing Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah. 

Ellyse Perry has made a great impact on women ‘s cricket. She was also named as Wisden’s Five Cricketers of the Decade – alongside Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Dale Steyn, and AB de Villiers. Perry is one of the most accomplished all-rounders in women’s cricket. 

Ellyse was also honored as the Women’s Cricketer of the Year at 2019 ICC Cricket Awards. Till now, she has represented Australia in 240 occasions across all formats, taking 297 wickets and scoring 4864 runs. She made her international debut as a teenager in 2007.

Ellyse Perry chooses between Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah

On Monday (May 4), Ellyse gave an interview to Star Sports India. During the interview, Perry was answering the ‘would you rather’ questions. In that, the host asked her to make whether she would like to bowl to Virat Kohli or face Jasprit Bumrah. 

Perry had to make a tough choice as both Kohli and Bumrah are one of the best cricketers in the world right now. While Virat Kohli is ranked number 1 batsman in the ICC ODI batsman list, Jasprit Bumrah is the number 1 ODI bowler in ICC’s list.

After thinking for quite some time, Ellyse Perry finally made a choice. She chose bowling to Virat Kohli than facing Jasprit Bumrah. Ellyse said, “Yeah…Bowl to Virat.”

Later in the interview, Ellyse also answered whether she would want to face England women’s team or India in the 2021 World Cup final. The 29-year-old replied, “I’ll love to play India again.”

Notably, India and Australia played the finals against each other in the Women World Cup this year. However, India lost the match to Australia.
