The Coronavirus outbreak continues to dominate the world. Several cricket events around the world are coming to a screeching halt due to the same. Now, one of the suggestions is to proceed with the tournaments without an audience. However, Sachin Tendulkar speaks about how irrational this option is.

Sachin Tendulkar believes cricket events should not proceed without an audience

The Master Blaster said that certain events cannot be played if there is no audience. The cheers from the stadium is a part of the game’s essence. It’s not just the support but also the energy from the spectators which plays an important role during all matches.

Sachin Tendulkar mentions that it is impossible to imagine a Federer or Nadal match without an audience. Similarly, it is not possible to proceed with a cricket tournament without the fans at the stands.

Tendulkar says to ESPNcricinfo, “Can you imagine Roger Federer and [Rafael] Nadal playing on the centre court of Wimbledon with nobody there? It’s going to be such a strange thing to watch. Not just cricket, any sport needs to have that energy.”

The God of cricket gives away names of youngsters with promising future

Speaking to them further, the veteran Indian player talks about the younger players who have a promising future.

“Since we are talking about promising youngsters, there are a number and the names would be Prithvi [Shaw], Shubman [Gill] and [Sanju] Samson.”

Sachin Tendulkar compares these Indian players with the players from his generation. He said that Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Laxman, and he are all different from each other. Similarly, while all young players are different from each other, they all have promising futures.

“They all are different players. Just like how when we were playing, Rahul [Dravid] was different to me, I was different from Sourav [Ganguly], and Laxman was different from all of us. Similarly, these guys are different but have a promising future. They have their own styles.”
