The player suffered from a lower-back injury five months ago. To recover from this, he had to undergo surgery. As a result of this surgery the all-rounder could not be a part of competitive events. In fact, this is why he was not a part of the squad playing against New Zealand.

Finally, on the 2nd of March 2020, he took to social media to announce his return to competitive tournaments.

Currently, he is playing for Reliance 1 at the DY Patil T20 event, and he is scoring runs with 3-digits. His first century from his comeback game was from 37 balls. The second century was scored by him within just 39 balls.

Now, the all-rounder decides to take his batting skills one step further. Pandya rounds up a score of 158 runs from 55 balls making him the highest Indian scorer in T20s. Since the time he rounded up this score, his fans have been referring to him as the “destructive batsman”. His score includes 20 sixes and 6 fours. This performance comes across as a delight to the fans of the Indian cricket team and the fans of the all-rounder as well.
