Social distancing is the primary method of reducing the spread of the virus. Hence, controlling crowds and engaging in social distancing will be next to impossible during sporting events. Keeping this in mind, it is possible the India Vs Australia series to begin in October 2020 will face obstacles.

The Australian Government has decided to put the country under a six month lockdown. This means that the T20 series including the Test series of India Vs Australia will not be going ahead as per plans.

Currently, Australia is battling over 2000 positive cases of Coronavirus. Keeping this in mind, there is a high chance that the country’s borders will not reopen during October. With a border-ban, there is no possibility of the Indian team entering Australia. Not only will this mean that the India Vs Australia series is getting affected, but also the T20 World Cup.

An official of the BCCI says that it could become a nightmare if the international visa ban continues to exist. On top of that, other countries need to allow the players to travel as well.
