Shane Dowrich Doesn’t Want To Trade Jofra Archer For the Upcoming Test Series Against England

West Indies wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich believes that the team has a very strong pace attack and he would trade any of their bowlers for Jofra Archer. Recently in an interview, he opened up about the bowlers of his team and his experience of playing Test matches in England.

Archer is a Barbados based England bowler. He has represented West Indies in the under 19 team but is now playing for the England side from the past two years. He got eligible for playing as an Englishmen in 2018 and proved his worth by playing an important role in England’s victory in World Cup 2019. This would be the first time that Archer would be facing some of his Caribbean teammates.

Shane Dowrich heaped praises on Jofra Archer for his amazing talent but also clarified that they would see him as another Englishman while being on the field. Dowrich said, “I know Jofra pretty well, he’s an amazing talent and I wish him well going into this series. But at the end of the day when we cross that line, it’s the West Indies against England.”

Further, when asked if he would rather have Archer in his lineup than face him, Dowrich replied, “No. I think he’s made his decision in terms of where his career is going to go. I wish him all the best. But at the end of the day, we have a wonderful bowling lineup. I’m happy with the team that takes the field with me.”

West Indies team will not miss Jofra Archer

Shane Dowrich revealed that the bowling line up of his team is quite strong and he is looking forward to seeing Kemar, Jason, Alzarri, and Shannon bowl in the series. West Indies is scheduled to play a three-match test series against England in England from July 8.

Shane quoted, “If you look at the main four in Shannon, Kemar, Jason, and Alzarri, they all present different skills. Kemar is probably the most skillful of all them in terms of being able to get a consistent line and length, and moving the ball both ways. Shannon and Alzarri have a little more pace, and Jason is Mr Consistent; he can put the ball on a 10p piece. Then [we] have young Chemar Holder coming up, who is an exciting talent. The way he bowled in first-class cricket this season shows that. I think we have a well-versed attack and look forward to seeing them bowl in this series.”
