Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, It’s Steve Smith! The Australian player is receiving showers of praise ever since his superman save for a boundary. Currently, Australia and South Africa are battling for the T20I series Trophy.

When Adam Zampa delivered the second ball, de Kock sent it flying towards the boundary for a clear six. However, Smith leapt into the air, caught the ball, threw it back inside the boundary while he was in mid-air, and sent it back. As a result, a sure six turned into an unexpected single. The stadium gave a standing ovation to his efforts.

Smith expressed his concern regarding the type of welcome he will receive considering his involvement in the scandal. “They are hostile at the best of times here. It doesn’t bother me too much. I honestly don’t notice it, particularly when I am batting.”

Smith opens up about spectator remarks

Additionally, he expressed how he feels fielding near the crowd given the rude and crude remarks.

“It’s just words, it doesn’t affect me. I think I will be doing some outfielding, so I’m looking forward to it. I will smile and laugh and play along and have fun.”

Even though Smith stopped the six, de Kock finished the over with a four and a six. However, de Kock’s wicket was taken by Zampa himself.
