Steve Smith Completes a Half-Marathon Run to Keep Himself Fit

Australian batsman Steve Smith is not compromising on his fitness even at the time of a pandemic. There is no game of cricket happening anywhere in the world right now in the light of the coronavirus outbreak. However, Smith is making sure to keep his body in shape physically so that he can play as soon as the situation turns normal. 

Taking to Instagram, Smith shared a photo of his half-marathon run with the caption, “I had a few people comment after last week that 21km is not a half marathon (I had no idea) so I completed my 21.10kms today and have now officially done a 1/2 marathon! It was nice to shave a few minutes off my time also. #constantimprovement.”

Smith was accompanied by his wife Dani Wills in his half-marathon run. Sharing an adorable selfie with his wife Dani, Smith wrote, “Making the most of a nice afternoon exercising with @dani_willis #run #halfmarathon,”

 

Batting Tips by Steve Smith

On Thursday, Smith came up with a 3 minutes long video on his Instagram handle. In the video, Steve talked about the  “two authentic swings that each player has”He posted the video with the caption, “Batting tips I’ve had lots of people asking me to share some hints and tips on batting. This video is on what I like to call the first authentic swing. I’ll share the second authentic swing in a few days’ time. Let me see what else you would like to see,”

The 30-year-old described two authentic swings in the video. The first swing involves the top hand and helps in driving the ball straight down the ground. The second swing, according to Smith, enables a batsman to “smack the ball” and involves the use of the bottom hand.

Further in the video, Steve gave some important tips to the youngsters. This was a nice gesture by the former Australian captain to help the budding cricketers improve their batting skills.
