Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Other Reacts on Sachin Tendulkar’s Birthday

The legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar turns 47 today (April 24). Sachin Tendulkar famously known as the ‘God of cricket’ was the definition of cricket for many people across the globe in 24 years of an international career. 

The little master debuted at the age of 16 against Pakistan and went on to become an inspiration for many. His retirement made all the cricket fans emotional. Tendulkar took the retirement from ODIs in December 2012, from T20 in October 2013, and finally, from all forms of cricket on November 13, 2013. The veteran played his 200th and final Test match against the West Indies at his home ground, Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

In his glorious career of 24 years, Sachin made many records that are still unbeaten. To date, Tendulkar is the leading run-getter in international cricket, with 34,357 runs across formats. He scored 15,921 in 200 Tests, 18426 in 463 ODIs, and 10 in 1 T20 international. Also, he has a record of smashing 100 centuries across all formats.

On the occasion of his birthday, Tendulkar started his day by taking the blessings of his mother. Sachin shared the photo of the Ganesh Bappa that his mother gifted him on his special day on twitter. 

His post read, “Started my day by taking blessings from my Mother. Sharing a photo of Ganpati Bappa that she gifted me. Absolutely priceless.”

 

Birthday Wishes for the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar

 Twitter was flooded with the fans, cricket boards, and the cricket players wishing Sachin Tendulkar on his special day. The legend received a lot of warm wishes from both former and current players. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) congratulated the iconic player on his birthday by sharing a clip of his 41st test century which he dedicated to the victims of 26/11.

BCCI tweeted, “As the Master Blaster @sachin_rt turns 47, we relive one of his glorious knocks against England in 2008. He dedicated this ton – 41st in Test cricket, to the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Here’s wishing the legend a very happy birthday  #HappyBirthdaySachin”

 

The International Cricket Council (ICC) also had a special wish for the most prolific batsman of all time. 

 

The Indian Captain Virat Kohli posted a candid picture of himself and Sachin Tendulkar wishing the legend a very happy birthday. 

Kohli wrote, “Happy birthday to the man whose passion for the game of cricket has inspired many. Wishing you an amazing year ahead paaji.  @sachin_rt”

 

The former playmates of Sachin Tendulkar like Harbhajan Singh, Shoaib Akhtar, Rohit Sharma, and Yuvraj Singh also wished the former captain on Twitter.

The present coach of the Indian cricket team Ravi Shastri and the IPL franchise of the little master, Mumbai Indians tweeted on their official twitter handle wishing the legend on his birthday.
