The lockdown is not easy on anyone. Cricket players globally are speaking up about how much they miss the field. Steve Smith takes it a step further and uploads a batting tutorial as a means of being close to cricket during the lockdown.

The video is on the two authentic swings that every batsman has. The first video he shares is on the first batting swing. He said that two authentic swings are – one involves the upper hand and the other the lower hand. The upper hand helps driving the ball straight down the ground. Lower hand involvement in a swing helps to smack the ball.

“Batting tips I’ve had lots of people asking me to share some hints and tips on batting. This video is on what I like to call the first authentic swing. I’ll share the second authentic swing in a few days time.“

He explains the importance of the foot direction

In the video Steve Smith explains the importance of the direction towards which the foot points. He says that having the foot pointed in the direction towards which a batsman wants to hit the hall allows the bending of the knee. This bend lets the batsman drive the ball in a straight line.

He adds that there are some players who “neglect to bring their foot to around that straight line to enable the bat to come through”.

This video received several comments from fans within the cricket community. Even Glenn Maxwell left his comment on the video.

Now, this video consists of only the edits type of authentic swing. Steve Smith promises to come back in a few days with a video which explains the second type of authentic swing.
