If there were any doubts over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, it seems to be sorted sooner rather than later. Juventus are reported to be planning on extending Ronaldo’s current deal to 2023. Which would mean that the Portuguese international would be playing for the Old Lady till he’s 38.

Juventus hierarchy keen to offer Cristiano Ronaldo new deal

It is reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has himself initiated contract extension talks. There were whispers about him wanting to extend his deal. Though these rumours were concreted after Ronaldo held talks with his agent Jorge Mendes at the recently held Dubai Globe Soccer Awards.

The Portuguese forward still believes he can play a vital role in Juventus’s campaign in the coming years. And his views are supported by the Juventus’s hierarchy. As they believe Ronaldo’s presence on and off the field have greatly benefited their club. His presence has been seen as essential to how quickly the young players have settled in team. Players like Adrien Rabiot and Matthijs de Ligt have particularly been looking up to the former Manchester United forward.

Cristiano Ronaldo set to be offered a three year long deal

The former Real Madrid man is one of the two biggest sporting icons in world football. And that is highly beneficial for the marketing revenue of the club. This can also be seen as a reason behind why the 34-year-old’s new deal is reported to be worth around £30 million per season. The three year deal is also reported to have a clause for a 12-month extension.

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici and chairman Andrea Agnelli are particularly keen on to warp the deal. Though the talks are expected to be initiated in the summer as they want to re-evaluate the club’s situation before the start of the new season.

Juventus sit at the second spot with Inter Milan taking the pole position in the Serie A points table. Though the two teams are only separated by the number of goals scored. While they face French side Lyon in the Round of 16 in their Champions League campaign. However, on the disappointing side, they recently lost the Supercoppa Italiana final to Lazio.
