Daniil Medvedev Willing to Trash Talk Stefanos Tsitsipas – “I’ll Keep Offending Him”

After losing to Daniil Medvedev for the fifth consecutive time on the ATP Tour, Stefanos Tsitsipas termed his back to back losses to the Russian to be “boring”. In a recent to Eurosport Russia, Medvedev mentioned he’s willing to ‘trash-talk’ Tsitsipas at ‘every opportunity.’

“I don’t know what I did in the first place that offended him so much [as to provoke such attitude from Tsitsipas] but I’ll try to keep ‘offending’ him,” Daniil Medvedev said.

At Rolex Shanghai Masters 2019, Daniil Medvedev’s win over Stefanos Tsitsipas recorded a shabby head-2-head record for the Greek lad. “I don’t mean to be rude at all, actually, at all, but it’s just boring. It’s boring. It’s so boring that — I don’t know,” Tsitsipas said after his loss in Shanghai.

Concerning the Greek’s comments in Shanghai, Daniil Medvedev responded, “Every player can tell some digs about another. But I’m not taking Tsitsipas seriously anymore.”

The Russian wall, Medvedev furthered mentioned that he does not share a usual relationship with Tsitsipas and he stated, “we are definitely not friends.”

“He said my game is boring? For real? Well, I’m not going to argue with him. Everybody has their own style. If someone thinks it’s boring – it’s okay, not a big deal. We are definitely not friends, nor are we enemies. We are colleagues, that’s it,” World Number four, Medvedev said.

Presently, the fourth and sixth seed, Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are wrestling to obtain their first win at ATP World Tour Finals 2019. Both the gentlemen are debutants at the year-end championships in London. 

This year, Medvedev had a phenomenal season explicitly since the beginning of Northern American hard-court summer. He reached six straight finals on the ATP circuit and that includes his run to Grand Slam finals in New York. His final-reaching streak came to an end at Rolex Paris Masters 2019, where he was an opening-round upset.
