Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime Lock Horn as Top Two Seeds at the ATP Sofia Open 2020

After some exceptional tennis, The Rolex Paris Masters 2020 will conclude on November 8, 2020. However, fans should not feel disappointed as the ATP 250 Sofia Open 2020 will take over the Paris Bercy from the very same date.

World No.12, Denis Shapovalov, will begin the tournament as the top-seeded player. His fellow countryman and 20-year-old, Felix Auger-Aliassime, will follow him at the second seed. Both are playing well and will be players to watch out for.

Played on the indoor hardcourts, this will be the fifth edition of the Sofia Open. Many big players including the likes of Kevin Anderson, Diego Schwartzman, and Milos Raonic are now not a part of the tournament.

Adrian Mannarino, who gave a tough fight to Alexander Zverev at the Paris Masters 2020, and Jannik Sinner, will also play at the tournament.

Alex de Minaur and Jan-Lennard Struff will be the third and fourth seeds of the tournament. US Open 2020 winner Marin Cilic will also be there and will begin as the 8th seeded player.

The beauty of the tournament has been that each edition has witnessed a different winner. The expectations from the tournament are already very high as some big names are ready to showcase their skills.

Everything to know about the Sofia Open 2020

The tournament will take place at the Arena Amreets Sofia, Sofia, Bulgaria. With the qualifiers starting from November 7, 2020, fans can watch it live on Tennis TV. The winner will earn a whopping amount of € 325,615  as prize money.

Since defending champion and World No.5 Daniil Medvedev is not playing, all eyes will be on Shapovalov and Aliassime. However, as many fans are aware, this is a tournament full of twists and turns, also giving youngsters a chance to perform.

In 2018, it was the then World No.129, Mirza Basic, who won the tournament and shocked everyone. Fans certainly hope something like this would repeat itself this year as well.

While Aliassime has played three ATP tour finals this year, Shapovalov played quite impressive tennis at the US Open 2020 and Italian Open 2020. It will be a golden opportunity for both of them to boost their confidence as the season inches closer towards the end.
