In a recent appearance on Eurosport, Stefan Edberg had a talk with other champions like Boris Becker and Mats Wilander. In the talk, he was asked who he feels is the closest to taking over tennis from the Big 3. He replied by saying,
“I think Thiem, he showed that he could have won the Australian Open this year very easily, that was a good chance for him. If Rafa wasn’t there, I am pretty sure he will win the French Open someday. He is probably the closest one today, I would say.”
