Parkland or Links? Collin Morikawa Reveals Which Type of Golf Course Best Suits His Game

Everyone has their favorite courses in golf, where they believe they perform the best. But, apparently, Collin Morikawa doesn’t have any preferences. A golf content specialist, Joy Chakravarty, recently revealed so on Twitter.

I asked world No2 @collin_morikawa if he preferred parkland courses, or links, which is what we have at @YasLinksGC this week. He had a really cool answer to that.

Joy is a former media manager of the Indian PGA Tour. He shared a segment from his chat with the current World No. 2 on his Twitter.

When Joy asked Collin whether he likes to play at parkland courses or links, the 24-year-old didn’t hesitate in his answer. He said, “I show up to these courses thinking I can win. I haven’t yet showed up at a course where I felt my game can’t play here.”

Joy asked this question to the 5-time PGA Tour winner to check whether he would be ready for the links course of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Indeed, the confidence of the young golfer is extraordinary. Like Joy quoted in his tweet, this answer comes from a man who won the Open Championship at his debut. Collin has conquered what many other older Tour players have dreamed of.

It takes a lifetime for many to achieve what Collin has at a very young age. To begin with, he currently holds the position of no. 2 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Not to mention, he was also part of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics representing the United States.

His journey to glory began with his first PGA Tour win at the Barracuda Championship. Morikawa has won the PGA Championship, the Open Championship, and the DP World Tour Championship. The Olympian was also part of the winning team USA at the Ryder Cup last year. Notably, he has also attended the Arnold Palmer Cup in 2017 and 2018.
