Drake Credits Serena Williams For ‘Back 2 Back’ Inspiration

Superstar rapper Drake has claimed that American tennis legend Serena Williams was the inspiration behind his superhit diss track ‘Back 2 Back’. Drake said this in an episode of the ‘Rap Radar Podcast’  while discussing about a particular beat that he was working on.

Drake said that he was with Serena Williams at the time and the two discussed a lot about the iconic rivalry between her and the Russian sensation Maria Sharapova.

He added that Serena told him to ‘finish it’ while talking about the beat that he was working on. Serena told him to ensure that the song turns out to be something that the public can’t ignore. It should not just be something they listen now, it should be something they go back to again after a long time.

Drake revealed that this was like ‘a battery’ that Serena put on his back and he got inspired to create the best track possible. The song was a resounding success and was nominated for the best rap performance at the 58th Grammy awards. It also made its way into the Billboard Top 100.

The rumoured romance between Drake and Serena Williams was once the favourite story of the Papparazzi. It all started when Drake was spotted in the stands during Serena Williams’ matches.
