Chelsea’s star player Eden Hazard has been vital to the Blues team. His performances had led to many comparing him to FC Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo. Now, the Belgian has responded to the said comparison. Hazard will likely be leading Chelsea against the Blaugrana on Tuesday night in their Round of 16 clash. Needless to say, he was flattered by the comparisons but prefers to be his own person.

He said, “It’s good to be compared with the greatest ever, Messi and Ronaldo,” Hazard said in a press conference on Monday, according to Sport. But I am different, completely different. We play in a different league. I want to do my job. I try to reach their level because they are the best. So, every season I try to do my best. If you want to be one of the best, you need to play well in the big games. (The match on Tuesday night is) a big game, so let’s go for it.”

So far in this season, the 27-year-old has made 36 appearances for the Blues. In those appearances, he has scored 15 goals and assisted a further nine strikes. His form also means that a numb er of teams are eyeing his services. La Liga giants Real Madrid are one of the teams to have expressed interest in Eden Hazard. However, Antonio Conte is only willing to play ball if Marco Asensio is thrown into the trade deal. Real had even offered the likes of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Isco as trade options but Chelsea were keen on Asensio.

Asensio is worried that if Hazard joins the team, then his position will be under threat. As a result, he is dead against Real Madrid signing Hazard.
