Esports: Max Verstappen Dominates The Second Round of ‘Real Racers Never Quit’

Formula 1 star Max Verstappen dominated the second round of the Team Redline’s Esports ‘Real Racers Never Quit’. He won both the races at the virtual Catalunya circuit driving GTE racing cars on Wednesday evening.
A glimmering Max Verstappen overwhelmed the field to win both the rounds starting from pole position. Championship leader Verstappen took lights-to-flag victories in both 12-lap races in GTE machinery and went unchallenged all event-long. With this win, he tightens his grasp on the championship title.
The online tournament set 40 real-life racers in opposition to one another utilizing GTE hardware on iRacing, while Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya was the scene for the pair of 12-lap races.

Verstappen was joined on the first row of Race 1 by his eSports nemesis and Formula 1 colleague Lando Norris. Notably, the duo had a collision in the last race on Monday 23rd March.

As the lights went off, the Dutchman stood his ground and took the lead. Whereas Lando was beaten into Turn 1 by Porsche Supercup driver Ayhancan Guven. After that, a mix-up by Norris sent the two drivers off-kilter and further down the grid.
Verstappen crossed the checkered flag with a remarkable 9-second lead. His closest competitor was Porsche Supercup race winner Larry ten Voorde. And the last podium spot was taken by former DTM driver Daniel Juncadella.

After a bad start, Lando Norris recovered and completed the top four. Sadly, Norris wasn’t able to join for the second race because of a network issue.

Verstappen’s endeavors once again went by unchallenged, the seven-time Formula 1 race winner won the race with a lead of 4.5 seconds overLarry ten Voorde, and Guven finished the platform.
Other notable drivers included Formula E star Stoffel Vandoorne and Antonio Felix da Costa. Both of them were among the bottom runners for the whole race, finishing the races in 16th and 21st respectively.
