The secret way to get rid of fossil spawning on your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
New Horizons fans can name thousands of reasons to prove their immense love for the game; however, the most common reason behind ACNH’s sudden rise in popularity is that players can relate to their regular life. Nintendo has introduced several features like cooking, swimming, bug catching, fishing, digging fossils, and much more in New Horizons.
However, repeating all regular activities in New Horizons naturally becomes very tiring for users. Among those activities, fossil spawning is the most neglected activity in the game. Although some players love to collect fossils in their collection, the same can’t be said for other players.

Interestingly, one Reddit user found a hidden feature to stop fossil spawning in New Horizons. According to the creator, if you bury six fossils behind a cliff on your island, no more fossils will spawn on your island until you dig them out first. Since you will bury six fossils on the corner of your island, you don’t have to worry about the unnecessary space.
Indeed, the community was shocked after learning about the secret way to stop fossil spawning and thanked them in the comments. One comment read, “That’s a great tip! I just can’t resist saving them up and selling them. I may just have to try your tip, I don’t need the money or the fossils. Out of sight, out of mind! It just may work.”
Interestingly, another user also suggested that the same process could work for branches as well. They said, “You can do the same with branches so they won’t appear everyday.” Last but not the least, another user said, ” 6 fossils buried. 15 branches dropped. 1 stone dropped. No more crap spawning where I don’t want it!”
