“Even in its earliest form, the DMZ experience is built for the most hardcore completionists: with Faction Missions, Contracts, World Events, stocking up the Stash, helping out other squads,” read the blog. Precisely speaking, then it’s all about looting and exfiltrating while trying to survive till the very end in Call of Duty Warzone 2.

This will be a sandbox mode where players of varied skill levels will be able to choose how they go ahead in their own style. Furthermore, there will be some key aspects of DMZ to keep in mind when Warzone 2 arrives.

Inventory in Warzone 2 DMZ

The first and foremost rule of DMZ for all the players will be to have a proper inventory (or Stash) with them. Initially, they will begin “with a small inventory of free Contraband weapons. Contraband guns are only usable in DMZ, and if you lose them on the battlefield, they are gone forever.”

As is the case with every Call of Duty game, Warzone 2 will also offer a lot of weapon customization in DMZ. Furthermore, players will get one insured weapon slot for any personal load-out or Weapon Blueprint. After that, players can earn additional insured weapons by leveling up with the Factions.

Additionally, if players end up filling their Backpacks to full capacity, during the match, they can visit one of the six Dead Drop locations to “stash items for extraction” later.

Infil, Loadout, and the Missions (Objectives) in DMZ

By default, DMZ will be a Trios-based mode, but there will be options to play as a Solo or Duo as well. Per Infinity Ward, it’s recommended to begin with Trios in the Al Mazrah map, since going solo might be risky. While entering the mode, players will need to select a Faction and accept its missions. The three Factions in DMZ will be the Legion, White Lotus, and Black Mous.

While the Legion will be available by default, the other two can be unlocked by finishing other factions’ missions. Completing the objectives under a Faction will help in advancing through the Mission Tiers.

Call of Duty Warzone 2: Exploring the Exclusive Zone in DMZ

Apart from completing the objectives under Faction Missions, Call of Duty players will be able to explore the vast Exclusive Zone in DMZ. This way, they will be able to “collect more items for their inventory and take on optional assignments”. It will include tasks like completing contracts such as rescuing a hostage, taking down a valued target, or participating in a world event.

Similar to Warzone 2, DMZ will also contain looting in places located inside the map of Al Mazrah. For example, medical supplies will be available to find in a bathroom cabinet or hospital. On the other hand, a police station or any military outpost may contain a tactical gear for the players who make a visit.

However, there are a few limits to where the players can explore the map of Al Mazrah: locked spaces in the Exclusive Zone and the Strongholds, which will be guarded by AQ Forces. If they want to have access to these places, players will need to obtain keys for this purpose.

Also, DMZ mode in Al Mazrah won’t include any kind of circle collapse compared to Warzone 2’s battle royale experience. However, players will need to be aware of the radiation as well as the occasional sandstorm.
