George R.R. Martin Receives Harsh Criticism From Popular Author for Elden Ring

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring is a game that has multiple emotions attached to it. So far, the highly anticipated fantasy RPG has gained mostly a positive response when it comes to all the aspects related to the project.
However, recently, a well-known figure came out to express his disappointment over developer FromSoftware itself. Because according to him, the studio made the wrong decision, choosing George R.R. Martin to write the story of Elden Ring.

During his recent Q&A session on his YouTube channel, famous novelist Brandon Sanderson, known for Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive, shared his views on Elden Ring.
Complaining about FromSoftware’s choice of collaborating with George R.R. Martin to write Elden Ring’s story, Sanderson said:

“They choose someone who spends his days blogging about the NFL rather than the person who has played their games since King’s Field and has listed their games as his favorite games among his Top 10.”
Adding further, he even said that Mr. Martin has no idea of video games as has hardly played any major AAA entry so far in his life.
“George doesn’t play videogames! George has no idea.”
Well, Sanderson’s argument makes sense since the Game of Thrones author, himself, had admitted to not being a fan of gaming. His only favorites include the likes of strategy titles, such as Railroad Tycoon, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Master of Orion.
So him joining Elden Ring to compose its mythology feels a little out of place; at least that’s what Brandon Sanderson thinks.

But again, the reason why FromSoftware chose George R.R. Martin, for Elden Ring, over of any other novelist, may have been due to his unique, enticing writing style.
As for Elden Ring, the awaited open-world fantasy game is set to arrive for every hardcore Dark Souls fan on February 25, 2022. It will be available for major platforms like PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, and PC.
