Major Valorant Creator Teases His Involvement in Other Projects By Ending His Stay With the Team

Joe Ziegler, the game director of VALORANT has left the highly popular title’s team, Riot Games shared in an announcement. Ziegler has left his role after working for eight years on the hit multiplayer shooter. He joined Riot in 2010 and since then, was an integral part of many of its projects, including VALORANT.
It won’t be an over exaggeration to say that Joe literally created VALORANT “from the ground up”, according to Riot. Now that he’s moved onto pursue his future ambitions, it will be interesting to see the progress of the online game. However, Ziegler’s exit is not a totally bad news, especially for the players who have enjoyed the game so far throughout the years.

What to expect in Valorant after the game director’s exit?
The good news is that Joe won’t be totally away from VALORANT as he will stay in touch with Riot Games. The team will continue to work together on the multiplayer. But as he’s now out, he will also find a new opportunity, which is quite obvious.
Speaking of the possibilities, then Ziegler may join the next Riot Forge title, which was teased in November this year. It happened during the Nintendo Showcase. Another option for the VALORANT director is Riot’s awaited, untitled MMO. However, no further details are available regarding the latter.

During an interview with Polygon in 2020, he was even called the first person who theorized VALORANT. The overall team was discussing about the variety of games they could make, and he was the one who came up with idea.

Well, the success of the multiplayer FPS is only growing right now. Since the last two years, it has witnessed an unprecedented boom in terms of engaging more players. There seems to be no strong rival to VALORANT at the moment, as it has maintained a strong hold.
Coming onto Riot Games and VALORANT, in general, then Andy Ho will now take over the role of its director. Just like Joe, he has remained a core member of the title’s team since its launch.
