Nintendo’s online subscription is essential for players who want to experience online multiplayer games on their Switch. Back in February, Nintendo announced the addition of Missions and Rewards for Online members. Upon completing missions, players can collect valuable My Nintendo Platinum Points, which they can further used to redeem exclusive rewards. 

The most popular rewards include the user icon elements such as frames, characters and background that fans can combine and create user icons of their own. Moreover, Nintendo has been adding new custom icons based on popular themes every month.

Following the trend, Nintendo has now added custom icon packs for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for June, much to the fans’ delight.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Breath of the Wild-inspired icons were added to the Nintendo Switch Online membership today. Nintendo of America made the official announcement on Twitter.

Custom icons based on the popular titles will be available for fans in exchange for My Nintendo Platinum points. Moreover, the icon elements will also be refreshed every week.

How to collect the Platinum points?

Collecting Platinum points is easy. The missions are mostly equivalent to daily tasks like playing an online game, enabling cloud save and more. Click on the Nintendo Switch Online tab from the homepage on your console to start! 

As mentioned before, you’ll be able to collect themed frames, characters, and background elements using Platinum Points. You can then add a frame, character, and background element to create a custom icon for yourself. Your icon will be visible to your friends whenever you are online. With Breath of the Wild and New Horizons based elements, you can now flaunt your user icon in the form of your favorite games.
