Raging Acquisition Rumor Mill Links Tech Giant Apple With an EA Move

As we all know, the past few years have been great for the acquisition markets. With Sony buying Destiny 2 developer Bungie and Microsoft planning to acquire Activision Blizzard in 2023, the future looks dazzling. 

According to recent reports, another contender in the gaming industry is looking out for a buyer or merger. The franchise is the owner of some of the most popular titles ever released. From FIFA, Battlefield, and Titanfall to Apex Legends, their games have a separate fan base.

So, if you are still wondering who they are, they are Electronic Arts. The news has attracted a next-gen tech company planning to bid for it. 

Could Apple easily buy the famous EA Sports? 

Rumors are swirling across the internet about EA looking for a potential buyer or merger in the wake of similar acquisitions. No company has commented on it for now, but lurkers have given the possibility of some big players bidding for it. The names include Amazon, Disney, and the next-gen tech company Apple. Out of them, Apple has shown a massive interest in the deal. 

As of now, there have been no official statements from EA except their spokesperson, John Reseburg, saying that the company would not comment on anything about the merger and acquisition.

Microsoft-Activision Blizzard deal on hold?

Buyouts and mergers have been different tasks in the United States. This is because they have been under scrutiny by the government. So, even if both parties agree on the deal, they need the government’s sanction before going forward. And because of these rules, multiple deals are yet to be approved.

A prime example of this is the Microsoft-Activision Blizzard deal, which lacks the trust of many. Interestingly, Wall Street insiders believe the deal will fall through because of financial reasons. 

In conclusion, we all know what mammoths Apple and EA are. So, even if the deal had to go through, it would definitely require a truckload of money and sanctions.
