Recently, Neil Druckmann, President of Naughty Dogs talked about the studio’s plans and expectations for the future. These include news about the much-celebrated The Last of Us game.

The pain of waiting is unbearable for fans, especially when one of their much-anticipated titles is announced. Now Naughty Dogs are trying to bridge this gap between announcement and release. The studio earlier had huge gaps between their announcement and release of their gaming franchises like TLOU. The studio is trying to narrow this space down, according to Neil Druckmann.

“You’re right, we did announce Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Part 2 way in advance, but that actually caused a little bit of the work-life balance issues that we’ve sometimes had at the studio “ stated Druckmann.

He said that during the release of Uncharted 4 and TLOU 2, the studio had to bear some work-life balance issues, putting additional pressure on the studio as well. So the new strategy for the AAA developers is to delay the announcement and make it as close as to the upcoming PlayStation 5 title’s release date.

Neil Druckmann and his team are trying to avoid the crunch culture that many AAA title developers are currently facing. Moreover, Neil said that this would be applicable to the upcoming multiplayer mode of the Last of Us. He also hinted at an undisclosed project that the studio is working on and surely this will incite anticipation in the minds of the fans.
