The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is Nintendo’s crown jewel for 2023. Gamers are eagerly awaiting the game’s release on May 12. But many fans are concerned about the game’s $70 price tag, which is rare for a first-party Nintendo title.

This Japanese giant has always priced their major titles at $60. Hence, the additional $10 for the upcoming Zelda title was a huge shock for most fans. But finally, there is an answer from a Nintendo official about this increased price. The person to reveal it is the Nintendo of America President, Doug Bowser. In a recent interview, he was asked about many things related to Nintendo Switch, including the rumored successor to Switch. But another question that he has to face was Tears of the Kingdom’s unusual pricing.

He told the Daily Mail, “We look at what the game has to offer. I think fans will find this is an incredibly full, deeply immersive experience. The price point reflects the type of experience that fans can expect when it comes to playing this particular game.”

Bowser went on to say that this price point would not apply to all of their titles. But he added, “It’s actually a fairly common pricing model either here or in Europe or other parts of the world, where the pricing may vary depending on the game itself.”

However, YouTubers like RGT 85, who cover news related to Nintendo, claimed the unusual Tears of the Kingdom’s pricing is because of its 32 GB cartridge. This Japanese giant never used such a big cartridge for any past title, meaning the upcoming Zelda title would have many surprises for the fans to have the best gaming experience.
