The next addition to Ubisoft’s long-running Far Cry franchise, Far Cry 6 is all set to launch on October 7. It is set in the fictional tropical nation of Yara. With its postcard-esque aesthetic alongside the vintage cars, the game is resemblant of Cuba in some ways. Some players have had the pleasure of playing the game prior to launch and have found something interesting.

YouTuber JorRaptor, a player who was playing the game ahead of its release, has found some QR codes scattered throughout the map. These QR codes can be found printed on the side of a crate. It directs the player to a video when it is scanned using a QR code scanner.

The video briefly consists of a six bullet gun cylinder with a face. After that, 3 distinct arrows can be seen on a map. The buildings seem synonymous with the ones shown in Far Cry 4. Some animal tokens can also be seen, suggesting area-specific animals. The next scene shows some sort of an armored animal leaping on the player. A gunshot is heard and then there’s some blood. The arrows shown are now replaced with skulls.

Far Cry 6

Veteran players of the game have suggested that this is a teaser for the next installment in the Far Cry series. It appears to have some very glaringly evident references to Far Cry 4. It also seems like that the arrows shown on the map are players. This is exciting as up until now, Far Cry’s multiplayer supported only  2 players. This indicates that the next Far Cry might support 3 or more players.

Another QR can be found on the robot dog that comes with the Season Pass. When scanned with a QR code, it redirects the player to a website. It features a text from the character Laserhawk, the lead in the upcoming Blood Dragon remake. Upon clicking anywhere, a puzzle is shown and upon completing the puzzle, the player unlocks exclusive artwork for the upcoming show.
