Sony has made a big move regarding the latest PlayStation series in various markets across the globe. From now on, the next-gen console is going to cost the consumers a lot more than before. Simply put, the PS5 has become a luxury going forward.

The news comes after Sony just recently updated the retail prices for the PlayStation 5 in select international markets. The gamers in the United States won’t be affected by this decision, fortunately, but users in other nations will have to pay a hefty amount if they want the flagship product.

Sony makes PlayStation 5 unimaginably expensive

According to the official blog from Sony on its PlayStation website, the new change in the prices has been introduced due to the global economic environment. As inflation is rising, the company has decided to raise the cost of the console in various overseas regions. Only the US is an exception, where the latest prices won’t be effective.

Fans are angry and shocked over the increased prices of PS5

As expected, gamers were not at all happy following the massive announcement by Sony. In fact, most of them were in disbelief after the company updated the prices in international markets with immediate effect.

Some of them were so frustrated that they considered going for the Xbox rather than the PlayStation 5. Simply because the latest gaming series from Microsoft costs less than what Sony is charging right now, especially in the non-US markets. “Rip Sony Xbox going to dominate now,” wrote one fan.
