British game developer Rare has worked on games like the vintage Donkey Kong and Sea of Thieves. The developers are also a part of the exclusive Xbox Game studio. Just last year, they announced a game for the next-gen Xbox Series X|S called ‘Everwild‘.

Simon Woodroffe, the creative director of the game, spearheaded the production of Everwild. Microsoft will release the game with the launch of the consoles. They have included the game as a part of the game pass.

With the first reveal of the game, Studio Head Craig Duncan said, “The Everwild team is focused on building an experience that allows for new ways to play in a natural and magical world. Everwild will give you memorable, engaging and meaningful experiences for players everywhere to share. We cannot wait to share more with you in the future”.

Therefore, fans expect a magical world full of interesting characters to play with. However, the development of the game hit a snag after Simon Woodroffe left the company. The news was reported by VGC and later confirmed by Craig.

Considering the project just lost its Creative Director, one might think the development might hit a roadblock. However, Studio Head Craig Duncan is confident that “the Everwild team are in good hands and passionate about building a game that will give players unforgettable experiences in a natural and magical world.”

Talking about the departure of Simon, Duncan said, “We thank Simon for all his hard work on Everwild and wish him the very best of luck for the future”.

The reason for Simon’s departure is still unclear. Nevertheless, the loss of its senior-most developer might be rough for the studio.
