The coronavirus is starting bringing society to its knees. Tennis, among other sports, had to cancel most of its tournaments in order to avoid further damage. Basketball followed suit after a player of the Utah Jazz team tested positive for the virus. Eugenie Bouchard tweeted a reply to the video of the player doing something quite stupid after his press conference.

The COVID-19 is single-handedly bringing the world of sports to a standstill. In the past couple of weeks, organizers started to cancel tennis events, and from the looks of it, the season may very well be over already.

However, tennis is far from the only sport to suffer; among others, the NBA too suspended the league after Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz team was tested positive for COVID-19.

The press conference was on Monday. Gobert tested positive for the virus today, just a couple of days after his shenanigans. All he succeeded in doing was bring the spotlight on himself for the wrong reasons. While he will probably recover from the COVID-19, others, who had to handle the equipment may not be so lucky.

Nick Kyrgios, too, tweeted on the topic.

Eugenie Bouchard’s fortunes in tennis have continued to decay in 2020 as well. She entered the qualifying rounds of 2020 Australian Open and won her first two rounds but lost in the final qualifying match.

She then entered the Oracle Challenger Series in Indian Wells in the last week of January. The Canadian fared even worse there, losing 6-1, 6-2 in the very first round to Alexa Glatch of America. It was an abysmal display by the Canadian.

From the looks of it, she will never be able to get back to the level she once managed earlier in her career. However, she might be alright with that given her many interests in various other fields.
