Euro Qualifiers: Cristiano Ronaldo Scores a Sublime Chip as Portugal Ease Past Luxembourg

Defending champions Portugal move a step further in qualifying for the Euro 2020 as they ease past Luxembourg on Friday with Cristiano Ronaldo getting on the scoreline.
Portugal dominated the match throughout with 22 shots to Luxembourg’s 10 and it reflected in the scoreline as they won 3-0.
Bernardo Silva opened the scoring in the 16th minute, pouncing on a loose ball.

In the second half, Ronaldo scored a sublime chip after pressing the Luxembourg defenders into giving the ball away. Later, Goncalo Guedes sealed the the game for Portugal in the 89th minute, but it was Ronaldo’s goal that stole the show. Not only the way that it was scored but also its significance made the goal much talked about.
The 65th minute chip was Ronaldo’s 700th goal in professional football and his 94th international goal- highest among European players.
