Ex England Player Kevin Pietersen Praises Narendra Modi for His Efforts in Tackling the Virus

The coronavirus pandemic has forced many countries’ hand. A number of them have suspended any public activity and sealed their borders. The Indian subcontinent is one of those nations, as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi imposing a ‘Janta Curfew’.
Modi informed the citizens of the “Janta Curfew” from 7am to 9pm on Sunday, March 22. Since then several cricketers including Indian skipper Virat Kohli, have backed the move. They too, encouraged people to stay indoors and aid in the battle against the COVID-19 virus.
Former England player Kevin Pietersen also praised the initiative. The ex swashbuckling batsman urged Indian fans on Twitter to follow the directives that the government placed. Pietersen beseeched everyone to display a sense of solidarity in the fight against the coronavirus.

“Namaste india hum sab corona virus ko harane mein ek saath hai, hum sab apne apne sarkar ki baat ka nirdes kare aur ghar me kuch Dino ke liye rahe, yeh samay hai hosiyaar rahene ka .App sabhi ko der sara pyaar,” Pietersen tweeted.

Kohli and Pietersen were not alone in their pleas to the Indian citizens. Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul encouraged their countrymen to create awareness about the dreaded virus. The pandemic has killed over 9,000 people across globe and thousands more have been infected.
They also heaped praise on doctors, nurses and medical staff across the country for their efforts. Medical personnel are working tirelessly to treat the victims at the risk of their own well-being.
